Baby/diaper shower?

I am having my Kids pretty close together. They will be 17 months apart, both are boys. I kept everything from my first son knowing I was wanting another baby. Between my me and husband and the 2 baby showers that were thrown for me, I have a ton of stuff.but here is my thing, my first son was born in May, meaning he got a lot of summer stuff, this one is coming in October. I have had many tell me that it would be inappropriate to have a baby shower. They say I should have a diaper shower instead. Should I do a registry for those don't want to stick to diapers and wipes? Or would that be over stepping my grounds?
