Hcg levels after ectopic/miscarriage

For the ladies that had had either an ectopic pregnancy or miscarriage.  how long did it take for your hormone level to get back to zero? I had an ectopic pregnancy removed on the 14 of June and I still have pregnancy hormone in me. Not sure how far alone I was when it happened but my hch level was 8600 when the pregnancy  was removed. Not sure if that helps.
