Feeling nauseous? Try this!
Hi ladies! 2nd pregnancy, 8 weeks in and got to see little ones heartbeat today! Hurray!
I've been suffering from all day nausea and with all the exhaustion of growing a baby I haven't had time to make a ginger 'beer' concentrate like I've wanted to.... But I did it tonight! And I've come up with a variation that I really want to share:
5oz of ginger
4-8oz of lemon juice
Ok, chop up the ginger into chunks and put them into a blender with 2.5cups of water and blend for about 10-12 seconds.
Strain through cheesecloth or mesh and squeeze all the juice out of the pulp. (I save the pulp and use it in stir fry or marinades)
Add lemon juice.
Now at this point I usually add sugar and simmer it down until there is 1.5 cups left and bottle the concentrate. But here is where mommy brain actually came through for me. I'm at risk for gestational diabetes so no sugar for me.
I took the mixture, added liquid stevia to taste and divided it into my ice cube tray! Now the nutrients are still present and no cooking needed.
To use: I get a bottle of club soda (I use sodastream), put one ginger ice cube in my glass and pour! Delicious!!
Let me know how you like it or if you tweaked it for the better!
