I'm a FTM and my SO and I have come up with a list of requests or "rules" for visitors once our baby has arrived. I'd like to post them here and get some feedback on if they are appropriate or not! I want to get my point across without coming across or harsh or mean. Here is the announcement:

"Our baby is due soon! We look forward to meeting our bundle of joy and sharing her with all of you, and as first time parents we have a few requests to make this transition as easy as possible;

•we look forward to having visitors in the hospital, but please call or text to let us know you will be coming - we would hate to be sleeping or with doctors upon your arrival

•once we have announced that we've left the hospital please give us 2 days to settle into our new lives before visiting (again- please call or text first)

•please understand that we may decline your request to visit, do not take this personally! We could be having a difficult day, please be patient with us

•cold and flu season will be upon us once baby has arrived, and since baby cannot be vaccinated for 8 weeks please wash your hands before holding her and refrain from kissing her lips. If you or a family member are sick, please wait to visit. Baby will be happy to meet you when everyone is feeling better.

•take as many photos as you'd like, however, do NOT post pictures of baby or her information on social media

•if you are a smoker please do not smoke in the same clothes you will be visiting in - baby's lungs are new and developing

•last but not least, please allow us the joy of announcing our baby's arrival. Thank you in advance for not mentioning that I am in labor or that baby is here until we've done so ourselves".

****About the "don't post her on social media" aspect, my SO and I have no relationship with our fathers and would prefer that they didn't see her or have information on her and the best way to avoid that is by only sharing her with our own privacy settings****
