Rhogam shot???

I'm so scared of getting it for being rh negative. Both because I've never had a shot in my butt before and because I've heard there may be links to autism... has anyone received the shot? If my baby ended up having autistim I'd still love it with all my heart, I just don't want to unnecessarily have it.

I had it with my first and obviously this one too bc my blood type is still the same. My son is far from autistic. I worked with kids with autism for years and heard all the shot talk. There is no proof or link proven. But know my son is totally healthy in every way, social and developmently. I hope this puts your mind at ease a little!

I'm a midwife, everyone who is negative blood group has to have it! If you dont, your body builds up antibodies and this baby will be fine, but any future pregnancies are affected. Your body 'fights' the baby cells and it is very lucky if you can hold another pregnancy to term and there can be lots of miscarriages.

I had it with my first pregnancy, my son is fine he's 12 and very healthy. Had it at 28 weeks with this pregnancy and all is fine. It's not as bad as you'd think!

I got it early on due to bleeding and will have it at 28 weeks. I'm 20 weeks now. It's totally fine. I did not have any side effects and the baby is doing great.

I know several people that have and their children are fine. You have a much higher chance of having complications without it. As far as getting the shot itself the pain is temporary, it does hurt to get a shot there but it's over before you know it.
