When should you ask your doctor...

This may be a crazy question but, I was wondering have any of you ladies asked your doctor about delivery?? As in how many weeks will he allow you to go before he induce you?? Do I have to go the whole 40?? I'm just curious to know. I wanna ask so bad but I don't wanna sound like I'm rushing..lol. Plz don't judge me.. Feedback will be awesome ☺️☺️☺️

I'll be induced at 39 weeks or before and will only be given a c-section if neccessary. Go ahead and ask , they have heard it all before. I've asked about my delivery options twice bc I want to be mentally prepared

I think it depends where you live. The laws here in Utah are they won't electively induce you until at least 41 weeks with your first baby, or 39 with any others, unless medically necessary.

I haven't asked but here unless for medical reasons you wouldn't get an induction date until your 40 week appointment and it's normally about 10 days after that. It's always better to go naturally so they don't push it

I asked mine and he said my due date will not change unless water breaks before or I get contractions before or  it can even go longer

My doctor is usually nice but when I was 25 weeks I told him I wanted to talk about my birth plans and he said "wooo way to early" lol, so I haven't asked since then and he hasn't brought it up. I want to see if in my 34-35 week appt he will say something if not I will try again.

I felt the same way and didn't want to bother him with an irrelevant question. But at my appointment when I was around 30 weeks he asked me my plans for delivery... so I told him epidural haha and I asked if he thought I could deliver naturally because I'm 4'10 and he said that he was scheduling me for an ultrasound because my fundal height was measuring big. But that as long as she didn't look like she was going to be 9-10 pounds that he wasn't concerned... at our ultrasound we found out she's measuring to be at least 9 pounds and she's 15 days ahead of schedule, which is equal to how far ahead my fundal height has been measuring roughly. He told me that I could deliver in 2-3 weeks... or just have a big baby! When I asked about natural delivery he said the number to force a c-section is actually closer to 10 pounds so that he'd just monitor my labor closer to see how I'm handling it. But I think that he doesn't think I'll make full term so he's not worrying about it. Or at least that's how he acted!
It's never too early to talk to him about choices, decisions you've made, etc. But honestly your doctor won't know much until the end in all honesty! But you can ask him his opinion on induction and when he normally does them to get an idea!

I was almost 42 weeks when I was induced. My doctor asked if I wanted to be induced at 39 weeks but I wanted to go into labor naturally. I didn't.
