Vaginal Birth vs. Cesarian - Which was more painful?

I am just curious, for those who have experienced both vaginal deliveries and c-sections, which was more painful? Please comment explaining why. I have only had a vaginal delivery, and I'm terrified of needing a c-section with my next kid. I've heard different things on pain.

Vaginal is more pain during it, and C-section is more pain after. Personally I prefer to do and all future birth vaginally. I don't have to worry about a scar, stitches and pain like that in my stomach area. Yes there will be pain still in my vaginal area, but it's a lot longer recovery time with a C-section.

I haven't personally had both but I've known ladies who have had both. Seems like actual delivery is more painful vaginally but recovery is more difficult with a c section. Again, not personal experience but what I've heard.

C section is a surgery. Vaginal delivery is the way nature made us. Although I haven't done none of those I assume c section is more difficult

My best friend had a vaginal delivery the pain lessened for her within a week. I had a c-section and it was worse than labor. I went through most of my labor with out the epidural in hopes of delivering natural. Recovery was hell. I couldn't sit stand or lay comfortably. It feels like being cut in half. If I had the choice C-section wouldn't be a option and there are long term issues sometimes. My mom had 3 and just had to have surgery for endometriosis and found out her uterus and bladder were fused together.

I've had both natural and csection delivary. Natural i was more tied after and just hurt to wee for a few days. Was sore couldnt sit straight for few days but bearable pain. Csection was easy for me and i was on my feet quick the next day. Pain wise was bearable and i was up moving around. Worse part after a csection is needing to empty your bowels especially as i had one interal stitch and glue with steri strips outside. I was convinced my stomach was going to fall out literally. Natural delivary is slightly quicker recovery rate but pain wise is worse as contractions are awful but the actual birth is a relief.

I have had two c sections and they were a piece of cake. Recovery was uncomfortable but nothing I couldn't handle and obviously it took longer to recover. But I know some women gear really badly during vaginal and I'm assuming that hurts like hell!! Everyone's different so what was painful for one might not be painful for another.

I just had an all natural vaginal birth.. my baby is in the nicu due to feeder grower issues but I got discharged 24 hrs later.. I'm 8 days post partum and other than bleeding you'd never know I had a baby. Vaginal no meds is by far more painful DURING birth but way less painful after birth.
