Anyone pregnant with PCOS?

Hello! I'm currently 27 weeks along and I have PCOS. I'm using metformin 2000mg everyday. I have a question. When did you stop using metformin in your pregnancy? My doc said that I can discontinue using it from now and take the glucose tolerance test after 2 weeks, and if I have gestational diabetes then she will put me back on metformin. Anyone else using metformin? Please advice!

Mine was stopped second trimester. I passed the 1 HR glucose but could tell a few weeks later I had it. (Had it last pregnancy so I can check at home.) so I did the 3 hour and failed it. Have an appt Tuesday and might start insulin because my fasting number is too high. He won't put me back on metformin.

My doctor asked me to stop it when I entered second trimester. I did pass my 1 hour glucose test after stopping it.

I am 5 weeks but plan to take it throughout my whole pregnancy.  My hormones are VERY wonky without so I will not risk a miscarriage or complications after 6 years TTC.  So far I have found NOTHING that indicates that metformin causes issues with the baby.

BUT - I think it is up to each person.  I understand that metformin has some nasty side effects that just make people miserable.

I  have PCOS but was never on any medication for it other than birth control which I obviously stopped when trying to conceive. I never had any trouble with conception, I'm now almost 6 Months pregnant and passed the glucose tolerance test.

I am 8 weeks. My dr has me taking it still because it decreases the chance of miscarriage.
