Down Syndrome mom writes a letter.. gets applauded??

Ra

So I guess the mothers son was not invited to a party "because he has down syndrome". She wrote a 'powerful' letter about how her son would benefit from going and so would the other kids and that her son 'is no different' from others.

I don't understand why this is necessary, why she is being applauded. If your son or daughter didn't invited, they just didn't get invited. Regardless of a health condition or not. My son doesn't have 'something wrong with him', but if he didn't get invited then oh well! Why isn't she just saying oh well? Why cause a fuss or drag attention because your special needs child wasn't invited?

I'm sure someone will say I sound rude, but my point is MANY kids don't get invited to shit, it happens! Why make it about your child being special? For attention? I guess my whole point is why make it a big deal? It happens to everyone.
