Was I wrong?

Question

Yesterday I went out to dinner to my husbands restaurant (him and his brother own it) I was with my 5 year old and he's a quiet little boy, while he was drinking his juice almost slipped and fell out his hand he let out a little scream nothing too loud. Just as that happened an old man behind us turned around furious and said "can he not be screaming while I eat" I got up and said "no, he will not stop screaming and if you don't like it you can get up and move" now my question is do you think I was wrong to say that to him?

I don't think I would've said all that. Yeah he was a douche but was it really needed to work yourself up and be a douche right back? Personally I'm too tired/ don't c are enough to even response to dumb shit like that. The most that would've gotten out of me was a glare.

Sounds like a grumpy old fart. Your son barely made a noise and he complained? Kids make noise. He wasnt screaming at the top of his lungs and running around.

Yes, you were wrong. That guy was a customer, and you are the wife of the owner. You really should be polite to your husband's customers, even if they're grumpy old guys.

I would have done the same thing. If it's a family restaurant there is going to be kids like it or not and that's just how kids are. If you don't like it stay your ass home.

Um well one I wouldn't of said that because I can't stand children screaming myself and I definitely wouldn't have told them to move. Just one little scream isn't a big deal.

I think you were wrong. Especially since it was your husband's restaurant. I would've just ignored him. Yes, he was rude, but that doesn't mean you have to stoop to his level.

um yes I think so thats bad business and ide be annoyed if a kid was screaming in a restaurant but then again one scream isnt gonna kill the guy

He wouldn't have finished his meal in peace for sure. I would have pesterd the shit out of him without seeming obvious about it. Then complain to the manager to get him thrown out for being unruly lol. Done it before. It's amazing justice for rude ass ppl. Got a few free meals or discounts too for putting up with ppl like him. So no to your answer you were not in the wrong

If it was just the one scream I would've told him to "just calm down over there! It was one scream and you'll be perfectly fine!"

He was wrong for that but you also didn't need to make a scene. I would have just ignored him.
