Accelerated weight gain after 30 weeks?

I had been gaining as steady pound per week since my second trimester but now in the end of my third I'm suddenly packing on 2 pounds per week (I'm in my 34th week now and started noticing this around 30 weeks). Anyone experiencing something similar? I think some may be fluids as I've managed to avoid feet swelling until the last 4 weeks or so.  I'd read that weight gain slows completely in the final month of pregnancy but not sure that will be the case for me!
