If I'm monitoring fertility digitally with peeing on a stick - why do I need to check temp and mucus..etc?

Isn't it all just testing the same thing? I'm a bit confused as to the point of doing temp, mucus and digital check etc.?  Can the digital check be wrong? Can someone clarify for me? Thanks!

I find the digital OPKs unreliable especially the clearblue advance digital. I no longer use it and I gyno recommend I stopped. I was getting anxiety and stressed out from using it. I was getting high (positive) 2-3 times in a month and I am very regular with no fertility problems.Right now I just wanna stop all the tracking so I can relaxed and not be so obsessed about the process.

My doctor told me to use the ovulating predictor kits and nothing else. Temperature, checking cervical mucus and cervix positioning are all unreliable. She told me I would drive myself insane trying to use all those methods. I think if you can afford to use the predictor kits, everything else is just fluff to give you anxiety. The kits predict you LH surge and that's all you really need to know to predict ovulation! Good luck!

Temp is really most accurate in narrowing down the day, but you need to be consistent. You have to take it immediately after waking up at the same time everyday. It will tell you the day you ovulated but not until after the fact. I personally only look for mucus starting about 3 days before I expect ovulation. I only get it one day a month and it's pretty noticeable. It's usually the same day I get a positive opk so I just use it as a confirmation that I will ovulate in the next day of two. Honestly just using opks is probably fine. I have only tracked temp for 2 full months and that was just to see the pattern and make sure I was actually ovulating. Otherwise I found it too stressful to keep up fulltime.
