What do you think of the Owlet sock??

From what I understand, you put the sock on your baby and it monitors them as they sleep and alerts you to any problems. 
But I worry that it would either make me too paranoid or too complacent. Please explain your choice!

How does it promote neglect? Haha just curious. It's expensive that's the only reason I don't want it. But if my baby had complications like preemie or breathing issues I would for peace of mind.

I think it's a great invention and some moms need that piece of mind to get sleep. New moms are already stressed out and sleep deprived, if this can help eat her nerves I think it's worth the money especially if you have more children. I myself didn't know about till my niece was born and had some breathing issues, she stopped breathing 3-4 times and had to be intubated. So this gave my sister-in-law great peace when she got home. It's not a perfect science but it's nice to have something on the market for moms to help protect and monitor their newborn.

I don't think it promotes neglet- just gives parents peace of mind. But I do think it's a huge waste of money. That thing is so expensive and it only measures 2 things. No thanks. If it did heart rate, temp, bp, and oxygen? Maybe. But it doesn't. Lol
