Fiance missing birth?/:

So I'm being induced at 39+1 by getting my membranes swiped. I have my appointment at 10am then he is sending me straight to the hospital. My fiancé work won't give him the day off work because to many people already have it off. I really don't think I can do it without him. FTM. Any advice?

Your birth isn't going to be immediate the membrane sweep doesn't jumpstart contractions so expect to be ther from induction start to birth somewhere from 12-24 to even 36hrs.

Maybe since you're being induced you can ask them not to crank the pitocin too high and let you labor slowly so that he can come directly there when he gets off of work. I know it'll be hard without him there for the beginning but at least he'd be there for the end?

Wow that sounds a little extreme from his job. Can he call off? Even though they know he wants the day now...its def worth it to try. I wouldnt take no for an answer. Can he ask co-workers that may understand 😕

Idk that's kinda crazy. Maybe he can stay at work as lonng as possible and when it gets close tell him to just leave. He  never be able to see the birth of this chills again. He shouldn't miss it. That's crappy they won't let him off

Labor usually takes a while, so he might still make it. You may not have the baby for 12-14 hours after the induction starts.

He should get a doctor's note from the emergency room... It's a medical emergency. Your doctor should be able to write one. When I bring my kids to the doctor I get an excuse too, I mean ... How else will they get there ? How else will you get there?
