Early scans?

Question

Wondering whether I can wait for the 12 week scan! Pregnant friends have paid for private scans at 8 weeks, dont know if I should? Would you or have you had an early scan?

For some it can really calm and settle nerves. I'm one of those! My son we didn't know about until very late first trimester because i got negatives each time I tested and the Dr did. So my first ultrasound with him I was 13 weeks 5 days. After that I got a few additional ultrasounds if the room I was in had the equipment. My second pregnancy was a missed miscarriage and it would've been much easier to know how things were going before the 11 week mark. I personally feel better knowing and seeing something rather then just hoping everything is going as it should be.

I had my first scan at 8 weeks. While it was a relief to see that the baby was in schedule and developing normally, I think the scans at 12 weeks are just better! Our lil nugget just looks like a gumi bear lol and at 12 weeks there is a lot more definition. Just my ten cents. The wait is killer, but it might be worth it!

I would just wait. Some doctors don't even do an early scan so the first one is at 20 weeks. So relax and patient.
