When to take STI test?

When is the right time/situation to get tested to see if you have any STI's? Before your first time having sex, or after? Or just when you suspect you may have an infection? And what age do you have to be before you can get tested?  I've only been with one guy and he's only ever been with me, but I'm curious and just wanna make sure we're both safe

You could also go at anytime before having sex with someone new and they should do the same so you know if you're both clean!

I go every six months, and every three months if I have a lot of new partners. But every six months is usually good.

There is no set age, you should start getting checked after you begin having sex.

Im not sure everyones sex life is different. If you're having sex in close range monthly would be nice. I only got tested when something didn't feel right! Im not sure what the recommended time is by like gynocologist and docotors and stuff but im sure someone will answer that!
