Maternity Leave?

Question

How long did you ladies take off for maternity leave for a natural birth?
I'm trying to figure out the best recovery time for me and baby before I go back to work. 
I was hoping not to take more than 3 weeks. Is that enough? 
I will be bringing my baby to work with me everyday except Friday. 
Opinions please!

Oh my god!! Majority of people in the UK take 9 months! I could never think of just three weeks!! But depends where you work.

First one only 6wks cause I had no pay and needed money for bills. Second one I quit and went back to school full time, this one in hoping we can finally afford me to take the 12wks you are supposed to be allowed.

In Canada we get 12 months... I was put on sick leave beforehand so I'll be off for a total of 15 months at 55% pay. It shocks me how other places only get a few weeks!

I did 2 weeks before my due date which was a mistake because I was 1 week late and those 3 weeks draaaaaagged.  And then I was out of  work for as long as the state allowed me, which I'm pretty sure was 12 weeks.

I believe the doctor will make you take six weeks, mine did. I felt I was ready after 2

When my times comes I will have 3 months off.

I'm taking 10 weeks. Only about half of it is paid. Only because I have insurance that covers part of it. 😒

Everyone's situation is different :) it's great you can bring baby to work I could not however as a hairstylist so I have decided I will do the same as I did with my first .. Quit my job they give 6-8 weeks unpaid that is not enough time at all .. I will take a year ? Maybe 2? Then when I'm ready get rehired ... It is best for my family I'm not comfortable leaving my baby with someone else or shipping him off to daycare (I would be working to pay for daycare) and I can't hand my baby to someone while I am nurcing that is my job :) I did the same with my daughter who is 6 and our bond is unbelieveable 💜 congrats and best of luck!
