Did you know that "second hole/lobe ear piercings" for an INFANT/Toddler is a thing?

Please keep all of the "I wouldn't pierce my child's ears until they asked/Piercing their ears that young is abuse/ Parents are horrible for piercing their infant's ears, etc." comments to yourself. EVERYONE will say it and the post would just be pointless.

*I am not considering this, I don't even have children. I saw a user post about it. I was surprised so I looked it up.

I'm ASKING did you know that parents get their infants/babies/toddlers SECOND hole piercing as well once the first set heals.

Whoever thinks its abuse are dumb af. Like how is it abuse getting your baby's ear pierced. They won't remember the pain. And its only a second of pain and it done. Plus when they get bigger it's fully healed. I don't wear earrings like that but my piercings never closes. Because i got it at done at a baby.

It may have been one of my posts that started this topic because I have posted recently about my children having their ears pierced more than once while they were babies. With all 3 of my daughters I had their ears pierced again second time as soon as their first holes had healed. My eldest didn't have her ears pierced until she was 6 months old and had her ears double pierced at 8 months. My other 2 daughters had their ears pierced for the first time when they newborn and had their ears double pierced by the time they were a couple of months old. They also had further piercings in their ears at a young age.
In the area that we live it is very common for babies and toddlers to have their ears pierced more than once although it does seem relatively localised to our area. By the time they start playschool it is unusual if a girl hasn't had her ears pierced at least twice with a lot having several earrings in each ear and also the majority of boys having pierced ears by the same age.
I work part time in a jewellers and we are always busy with ear piercing especially for babies and toddlers. We are always having babies and toddlers being brought in a few weeks after having their ears pierced to have further piercings done. At a guess at least half the babies are brought back to have their ears pierced again by the time they are a year old with quite a few being pierced several times by the time they are a toddler. Provided that there is enough room to pierce we will do as many holes as the parents want pierced in their children's ears.
I have no reservations about piercing childrens ears several times and would do the same with any further daughters I had.
It is certainly not unknown in other places though to see babies with their ears pierced several times. I have seen it when we are on holiday and we often get comments about our daughters ears and other parents then deciding to do the same and have their daughters ears pierced again.

In some cultures its traditional. I lived overseas for 6 years and I had a number of friends that had their ears pierced multiple times as a baby because it was traditional in their culture. And none of the girls I knew didn't like the second (or third) hole.

I'd personally stick to just one set of ear piercing myself but even a second set is significantly better then people who put ear lobe stretchers on their babies and toddlers.
