Positive Mirena IUD experiences?

Just curious any feedback from your experience with the Mirena IUD, specifically women who have never had a baby. I'm 28, never had a baby & not trying to conceive for the next few years. I've always been on the pill but the past year I've been through a lot on the pill, tried multiple kinds but they keep giving me different terrible side effects and I'm over it. My doctor has recommended the Mirena IUD and I'm fully confident in her as a doctor and her advice. But of course I'm still hesitant because it seems the 'horror stories' and bad experiences are always put out there. I'm curious to hear from those of you who have had personal experience with the Mirena. Please share!
