Anyone familiar with castor oil to induce labor?

Due date is tomorrow! 3 cm dilated and 90% effaced! Ready for this baby!

I tried it with my first, while in early labor trying to speed up contractions. It failed miserably. I s*** my brains out for hours. Afterwards my butt hole was on fire, I was slightly dehydrated, and even more tired. It doesn't just cause "bowel movements." It causes that kind of diarrhea where you hold on to the toilet like you're riding a rocket ship. Your bottom is spraying liquid like the back of a jet ski. It's pretty much like giving yourself food poisoning. I won't ever be trying it again. If it can't speed up labor that's been going on for hours, with contractions already less than 10 mins apart, then I don't have any faith it can trigger labor contractions.

Go for a long walk like 2-3 hours! It might hurt but it will help move baby down.  
Than come home and have sex.. lot of it.

That's what I did and within 24 hours my water broke!

This is a touchy subject. People have strong opinions. I, personally, have done some research and feel it's too risky for me. Others, given advice of midwives and supervision, have taken it. It's your choice, but there are risks.

You're so close to being in "active labor" at 4cm I would just walk or have sex (if you can). I wouldn't want to feel sick just to get that 1cm. Good luck!

Not only can it cause horrible diarrhea, it can cause baby to pass meconium

I did it with my first 2 and had my babies within 12 hours. I'm scared to do it again because that was 5 years ago so I feel old now lol and it gives you diarrhea.

There are no proven risks associated with taking castor oil. Go ahead and try it. My recommendation is taking 2 oz of the oil mixed in with orange juice. You will definitely have the poops but that is what causes the contractions to start!
