Do you use a trigger with clomid?

Question

My doc doesn't really want to give me one. I'm unsure as to why (I have an appointment today) and it sounds like he would rather me ovulate naturally.

I want the trigger and he will prescribe it but mainly want it because 1.  I ovulate late and 2. I want ALL viable follicles to ovulate. Not just one.

Any insight? X

There is a reason to do the trigger for me because in the past I hve had some of the follicles turn to cysts:-/

Yes, monitored with bloods and ultrasound:)

I actually spoke to him today post ultrasound and because I have 3 follicles he is cancelling this cycle (Australia won't do any more than two follicles). 
But, will trigger when the follicles are 18-20mm (so hey don't turn into cysts).

Advised against BD due to risk of multiples, we will do it anyways. Not letting those nice mature eggs go to waste:)

Is it a monitored cycle? Are you actually ovulating on clomid?

Most doctors don't prescribe the trigger shot unless you have mature follicles and still aren't ovulating.

If your body is releasing the egg, and your not doing an IUI than is no reason for you to have a trigger shot.
