Ok super embarrassing question

Due to a bunch of pregnancy complications I haven't had sex with my husband since probably around December... I was never told not to but I was worried and paranoid. I'm now in the final stretch so if baby comes it's not a big deal. Now do we need to have gentle sex or is it safe to be a bit rougher? My doctor and midwife both said sex was fine but it was just me being worried like I said.
