The overly expectant, expecting mother..?

Ok, so I just read a post from a year or two ago, on those updates they do about the baby on what day you are on...and she, along with many other women, were upset and quite frankly, outraged, that their husband's and SOs were not giving them special attention or treating them differently now that they are pregnant. They expect to be catered to, have things carried, to stop working, etc...

How many of you feel this is the way it should be? Do you feel that special treatment is deserved for being pregnant?

No judgment from me, I just want to see what the different dynamics are 😊

Personally, I don't expect to be treated differently...unless on strict bedrest, I feel as though life should continue on as normal. At the most, a little extra help in the beginning when we can be pretty sick, is always nice, but certainly not demanded. My husband does offer to help with things, but also pushes me to not be lazy.

So, where do you stand ladies?

I don't expect to be treated differently but I do expect for my SO to be understanding when I'm sick or exhausted or in pain. Growing a baby is hard and it's not the same experience for everyone. Some women have it easy and don't experience morning sickness or pains or severe exhaustion. They go about their normal routines. For the ones who do suffer it's nice to have help and to be able to take it easy when able. It's certainly not a reason to get lazy and stop working, unless medically necessary.  Everyone will have their own opinion and everyone's experience is different. For me, my fiance treats me differently but in a good way. He carrys bags, he checks up on me often, he tells me to sit down and stop doing the dishes if I feel faint or light headed and he takes care of it. He gets me what I need/want. I don't ask him to do these things nor do I make him feel like he has to, he just does it bc he wants to and he loves me and wants to take care of me. And I appreciate it bc the father of my 6 year old was no help during pregnancy with her. And always made me feel like being pregnant wasn't hard and I shouldn't complain.

I don't expect to be catered to,  but I have hypremisis garvadium (if I spelled that right)  and after 115 days of being sick as he'll some special treatment and extra help would be nice.  Like a back massage or a meal cooked,  that kinda thing.

I would love if my husband picked up the slack around the house. I feel like I'm sick half the time, because I'm so exhausted. I just can't get around to cleaning like I used to. And the mess doesn't bother him so it stays😤

Definitely don't want special attention but I do expect a little bit of help. I still work full time (on my feet), do mostly all the house work and I'm creating a life. The least he can do for me is occasionally doing the dishes or make the bed and I'm a happy person. Oh and be understanding when I fall asleep at 7pm because I have to be up at 5am😅

I haven't expected special treatment, but it is nice when family and friends do a little something for you cause they know you don't feel well. Or remind me to take it easy because I definitely push myself too much often.

I don't necessarily expect it. But I suppose to do throw out the pregnancy card when I want my back scratched 😊. I have been extra tried even in my second trimester so some of the house work has been lacking. DH has tried to pick up some slack but I've in no way insinuated he has to and he usually gets mad if I try to vacuum or do to much anyway.
