Is WIC correct?

I just went to WIC to get formula for my 1 month old. The lady told me I was feeding my baby toooo much!! I'm so confused, and somewhat frustrated. He's eating 4-5 oz right now. Usually evry 3-4 hours. She said he should be eating 2.5 oz evry 2 hrs... I've tried that before and he would cry sooo much, because he was hungry, that he couldn't sleep in the day. What am I suppose to do? How are your 1 month Olds eating?

Ignore what WIC tells you, listen to your baby, and your pediatrician. WIC employees are NOT doctors. Every baby is different, grows differently, and eats differently. You're doing great listening to your baby!

At 1 month my LO was eating 2-3 oz every 2-3 hours. At 5 months, she eats 4 8 oz bottles and cereal 2x a day (1 oz it weighs).

It's practically the same thing if you think about it 2 oz every 2 hours would be the same as 4 oz every 4 hours. Don't worry about what they say, you feed your baby when they are hungry. A happy baby is better than a hungry baby. My boy has been drink 6 oz since he was 3 weeks old every 4 hours. The doctor told me to try 3 oz every 3 hours but he would cry until his next feeding. I tried it for 3 days and I gave up and went back to what I doing. Every baby is different don't worry. As long as your babies weight is right don't worry

My daughter as a newborn ate 4 oz every 2 hours or so. Wic tried to say we overfed her but her pediatrician said newborns cluster feed amd to feed her what she wants when she wants.

A baby will refuse food if they're not hungry anymore. You're not feeding him too much.

When my son was 1 month he was eating 4-5oz. Wic here didn't see it as a problem neither did my pediatrician.

I don't know what wic is and we don't use oz in my country but I feed my son as much formula as he wants as often as he wants it. Different kids have different appetites and they stop drinking when they are full. My son drank more than he was supposed to but he is normal weight so I don't see any problems with that

Ughh why does WIC do that!!They're not doctors! They told me that too 😒Just don't listen to WIC. I told them I was feeding my daughter 3 ounces every 3-4 hours and said that I need to wake her every 2-3 hours 2 ounces.. WTF and said at 3 months is when she should start eating 3 ounces. I think maybe they tell you that since we're limited on the amount of formula they give us I'm not sure but they make you feel like your doing something wrong 😠

My baby is 11 days old and his pediatrician says he should be drinking 2-3oz every 2-3 hours.
