Are these real contractions?

I never realized that labor could be so confusing! I posted earlier about my water leaking, which is ever so slight but my baby is so low I think his head is blocking the leak. Anyways the initial leak happened at 8, every since then I've just been watching for any other symptoms. Well around 11:48 I started having what I thought was a BH contraction but now I'm not sure! I started timing them and they last 2 mins each and are 5 mins apart exactly. I kept track of them until 12:30 when I finally fell asleep. I'm wide awake again at 3:40 and I'm still have them but their not painful so I don't know what to think! Are contractions always painful?? It's my whole stomach tightening up even down below my belly button, could these be real contractions?
