Elderly lady in a supermarket cafe watched as my 2yr old had a tantrum as he didn't want to share a piece of cake with me. Then the lady said 'are you his mother?!' 'He really needs to learn to share or he'll be ruined for life!'. She went on to add 'was he born in March as Aquaries children are known to be difficult'. I almost cried but also could have shouted at her. Did neither just stared in disbelief and waited for her to go away

I always stare in disbelief as parents allow their children to behave such ways especially in public places. Ok..so you asked him for a bite of his cake? Did it warrant a full on tantrum? NOPE. I would have taken the cake and tossed it. Not because he wouldn't share but because his behavior didnt warrant a treat. My daughter is a march baby.... Yes she is off the chain sometimes... But let mama start counting and actually make it to 5... And she knows that little butt will be sore the rest of the day ON TOP OF losing any treats. YOU ARE THE PARENT. WHO RUNS WHO?

Well i mean what were you doing when he was throwing the tantrum? I honestly hate being in places where kids throw tantrums and the parents just sit there and don't do anything. It's disruptive and teaches the kid that it's okay to act like that wherever and whenever they want. I agree that the march/Aquarius comment was uncalled for though. Let's just say when i was little i threw one temper tantrum and i learned after that. I started to throw it in a store and right away my mom was like "oh okay if thats how youre going to act then we're leaving." So she picked me up and took me home and i got spanked. Never threw one again and no one even had the chance to say anything to her.

I would have thrown my sons cake away or ate it in front of him for that. 2year olds know damn well what theyre doing. I get irritated when peoples kids throw tantrums in public and they just laugh or pretend like its okay. Discipline is necessary even if its the most passive kind out there.

I've noticed that a lot of elderly people have no filters when it comes to their opinions on parenting. I've gotten so many comments from family members about how things were done when they had their kids and that their children survived just fine. So annoying!

You have every right to be upset as that woman was absolutely rude! Toddlers throw temper tantrums. Their brains aren't developed and as a result they are extremely self-centered. It's simple biology.

Regardless of how your child was acting, it's nobody else's place to tell you how to parent your child. She was a bitch and if I were you I would put her in her damn place. And then of course I would've put my child in his damn place too.
