Would you consider being a fulltime housewife?

If your husband is financially capable of looking after the family and asked you to quit your job to be a full time house wife. Will you?

My husband and I were both in our careers when we got married. We both worked. We got pregnant quicker than expected but we had talked about me being at home to raise our children while he worked and were both okay with and planning on that.
I'll be honest, it's one of the hardest things I've had to do, to be dependent on someone to provide for me in that way since I was used to doing it myself, but I wouldn't change it. Being a mom is hard work but I know my child. I see his joy with the little things. We're buds. Do I get irritated, sure. Do I need me time, definitely. My husband helps with that. We wouldn't change it for anything.

I'm a housewife now, I have done every job from waitress to care assistant to bank work and I owned my own sucessful business too. When I got with my husband I was in a bad state of anxiety and depression so he suggested I take some time off for me, I agreed and he has been sole bread winner for 4 years now. We both enjoy with me being home I can keep the place spotless grocery shop take our pets to any appointments they have and generally keep things going while he's at work, every minute he is at home we get to spend doing things we enjoy, not a second goes on cleaning or anything mundane. And I would hate for that to change, we are very lucky in this way. Although we wanted to have children I'm not sure that can happen now so I might go back to college and maybe get a part time job but nothing major and our arrangement would stay the same.

This is actually pretty much my dream, as different as that sounds, I've always wanted to fall in love, get married, and keep the house as boring and simple that sounds, I like the thought ☺

I think especially the word "family" sticks out- if the husband can financially support wife and kids, then the more time the wife can spend with the kids the better!! 
Now, having said that, I'll share my experience a little as to how that shapes my view. I am a musician-mostly classical violin/viola and piano. My husband is an EMT. We have a one and a half year old and I am due with #2 in six weeks. So, my husband doesn't make a lot, but we consider him the primary bread winner. I am basically a stay at home mom but I teach a few students and I get paid to play for weddings and events and to play in several orchestras. One of the win win issues with this is my flexibility: I can say yes or no to specific musical things and I get the enjoy a little bit of a "career"- I.e. It's not like a 9-5 job where I either do it or don't. I understood that not every family can do it this way!! :)

I gave up my career to be a housewife. Although it was so he could take advantage of an opportunity in a remote-ish place where I wouldn't have a lot of choices. We figure I'll stay home for the first three years and then he can stay home when we relocate. I actually made quite a bit more money, but in doing so later, he can use the connections he's building now to attract clients when he opens a shop from property we plan to purchase later. At first it was an ego bash for me, but I've learned to emrace how lucky we are to even be able to have a full time parent at home and how lucky I am to truly have a partner.

That's an odd thing for him to *ask* of me. I'd feel very strange if my husband *asked* me to change career paths of any kind. He isn't my boss or career counselor...so he doesn't really get a vote in that arena. 
If it would work out, and if we had kids, I would consider the option.

I've been a housewife for about a month now and it's not all that cracked up to be. I constantly get bored and cleaning all day is not something I enjoy doing lol. I just fell like I have way too much time on my hands.

No. I was unemployed for a while and essentially a full time house fiancé for months and it was nice at first but I ended up hating it. I'm happy to be working now! My fiancé was able to support us both but still, I need to work lol. Even if we were super well off id want to stay at my job. I do love my job though so I'm sure that has something to do with it.

I'd consider it though I've been super independent and need to keep busy - my husband however has expressed his wish to be a stay at home dad.. I'd be more open to it if I clearly knew his intent He's not gonna come out and say it but I'm pretty sure his first priority is to just not work (he's retiring from military), not to raise a child. He doesn't want to work anymore or find a new career outside the military... Understandable, but he also play video games all day and I have to prompt him to do things around the house while I'm working and going to school all day. I don't think he understands what it's going to take on the daily to raise a healthy child. It's not an easy job and I hate saying it but I feel he'd half-ass that job.. Just bc baby isn't crying doesn't mean he/she shouldn't be held or need attention and bonding, kind of thing. 
So, that being said - if anyone stays home, it's gonna be me :) Depends on what he finds after military life.. We make the same at the moment.

No but a stay at home mom yes! I have been for almost 5 years! I'd get bored if I didn't have a kid to keep me busy!
