Break up before college? Or try it out??

Okay so my bf and I have been dating for over two and a half years and now we're going to different colleges! we will be about an hour and 45 minutes away with our hometown about 45 minutes away from each of us. He's going to a small school to play baseball and I'm going to a bigger school. I'm completely in love with him and can see myself with him in the future. He's never cheated (that I know of or suspect) and neither have I. He's gonna be pretty busy playing a college sport. Any advice on whether we should break up or stay together and test it out? I've always told myself I'd rather try and fail then not try at all and never know. But college is a month away and now I'm really scared

Talk to your man about it. I'm a year older than my man so I'm headed to college this year while he stays in our hometown. I'll be about 4 hours away and he wants to attend the school I will be attending this fall. (It's always been both of our dreams to attend this school so we're not just following each other.) We decided together to give the year a try and laid out some ground rules. Basically, we respect one another and our relationship. We decided that as long as we can tell that we are both atleast trying to do so, that we'd be fine. Things like if we're going to a party, we let each other know before we are there and tell each other the dynamic when we are there. It's going to be so damn hard. But it's going to be hard with or without him and it was a matter of deciding which would be harder. Having him to talk to about everything and fighting from time to time, or being on my own and imagining what my best friend is up to. The kid keeps me grounded and makes me feel secure.

Been there done that! It's not as hard as you think it is. Boyfriend and I were dating for 2 years before doing long distance for another 2. And we were 8 hours apart! Now we're moving in together next week.

If you try it'll work! Best thing you can do is ALWAYS have a date to visit ("alright, we're going to visit again on August 26th and I'll come to you") and STICK WITH THOSE PLANS! I have faith in you guys 😊

I won't throw away a relationship like that away. My boyfriend and I went to the same university and this year I plan on transferring to one that is four hours away next month. We have been dating about two years and he's a baseball player as well. My boyfriend as a baseball player has no time for anything, but class and practice. We both know that with the decision I chose to transfer is for the betterment of our future. One day we might get married and everything we do now and sacrifice ourselves is for our future children. I hope this gives you some encouragement and to keep your relationship happy and healthy no matter the distance! 🤗

Girl... From my experience, you two will both grow apart. When my ex left for college, he completely forgot about me and even cheated on me even though we dated for 4 years. I tried my best to keep the relationship going; I tried until my second year of college. We were extremely committed and then all of that changed when both of us went to school. Three of my girlfriends had the same situation as me and all of us were left broken hearted.
When you go to college the only thing you want to focus on is your education and your future! GOOD LUCK ❤️
