Has anyone used Cytotec to be induced???

Question

Due date 7-17-16. My doctor is saying if baby girl isn't here by 7-24-16, she'll induce using Cytotec- which softens the cervix. I am 2-3cm dilated and 50% effaced. I have my doubts as last year she gave me that to help me pass a missed miscarriage. It didn't work and I ended up needing a D & C. I have also read that the FDA Doesn't recommend using cytotec to induce labor and read horror stories. As a FTM I am hesitant on her judjudment.  Any thoughts ?

I used it with my second pregnancy, it worked fine for me & I had a successful labor with a healthy girl. I just gave birth yesterday.

I got 4 doses of cytotec. It effaced me from 20% to 80% but only took me from 1 cm to a "loose" 1 cm. However, it was enough that they were able to put the Cook catheter in. The Cook along with the contractions that the Cytotec caused got me to 5 cm.

I had 2 rounds of cytotec and didn't help much, ended up getting a membrane sweep, 2 cycles of pitocin to max levels and was in labor 35 hours before she finally arrived..

I'm getting induced with cytotec on Monday morning! in afraid as well but like to believe that I can trust my doctors judgements and everything will be okay!

There's tons of other options. Just ask. Tel her you don't feel comfortable using it and ask if they can just try breaking your water or give pitocin a try.
