UTI While Pregnant?!

I went to ER on Wednesday because I was having sharp pains on my right side of my pelvic area... The doctor told me I had a UTI , she prescribed me antibiotics Keflex 4 times a day for 7 days... She also mentioned that a UTI can Cause miscarriage & I'm freaking out! Anyone else went through this with ur pregnancy?

I've never heard that a uti can cause a miscarriage. . They're pretty common to get during pregnancy.

Every article I have read and every doctor I have spoken to says that UTIs and yeast infections are common during pregnancy. I had one about 7/8 weeks and took antibiotics. I have one now at 22 weeks and they gave me antibiotics. Not once did they say it can cause a miscarriage. They actually said it doesn’t hurt the baby. You just have to take care of it before it turns into a kidney infection.

Also, if it's not treated in time in can turn into something more serious like a kidney infection.

I had a uti and was prescribed teva-lexin, 3 tablets a day for a week. The doctor didn't mention miscarriage and my baby and j are healthy. I think utis are very common during pregnancy. I guess it depends on how serious it is, mine wasn't painful.
