When should you go to the gyno?

I lost my virginity about this time last year to the guy I'm still with( he was a virgin too). We've continued to have sex here and there, but what I'm wondering is if I need to go to the gynecologist now that I'm "sexually active". And what would they do there, I'm only sixteen.

I would go to the obgyn now it would not hurt you just to go and make sure everything is okay down there.  It is good to go at your age so you can see if you like the gynecologist that you are seeing and that helps you build up so later on you have a feel for if they are a good one or not. Are you thinking about getting on birth control?

You should go either when you turn 18, or when you become sexually active. It would be a good idea to start going now since you are sexually active.
