What do YOU believe to be the definition of racism?

Is it:

A - any form of prejudice, discrimination, etc., that can be experienced by and carried out by any race

B - a systematic oppression solely against people of color.

The definition has been somewhat twisted and distorted in recent years, but yeah... it's A.

From someone with an accredited degree that studied the causes and effects of racism and oppression... The dictionary definition is not totally correct. It is a skimming of the surface and a quick rundown of what it CAN be. Racism IS the systematic oppression of people of color in an effort to uphold white supremacy.  It can manifest itself through individual prejudice but is most rampant and prolific in our societies institutions such as the judicial system, education, housing, and employment specifically. Most racism is imbedded into our social norms and is now more covert than overt. Racism isn't just the KKK and the N-word. It is continuing economic disparity in the face of increased education. It is having a better chance of being hired if you are white with a record than a person of color with a degree, etc. And NO, black people cannot be racist against others because all racism is rooted in anti-blackness. We can be prejudiced, biased, and discriminatory but racist is not an applicable term when applied to black prejudice against another race. If you care to disagree with me I won't argue with you but will be happy to point you in the direction of academic material that can help clarify if necessary.
