Thoughts on middle names?

I've always loved middle names (I have one). But my husband has a different perspective. All the men in his family have middle names and all the women don't because that's where the maiden name goes. I'm not sure what we'll do about middle names.

What are your thoughts on middle names? Do you have one?

I have a middle name and I love it! My name is Kinsey Rae ____ and all of my close family and friends call me by my first and middle name. So, I always ask people what their middle names are...I love them! Also, all the girls on my side have the same middle names and all the boys have the same. It's so fun! So, my son will have his dad's middle name when he's born and if we ever have a girl, she will have mine :)

I added my maiden name as a 2nd middle name when I got married! :)

Absolutely. The only person I know who doesn't is my boyfriend's ex wife. My ex-husband, his brothers, mother etc had 2 middle names, one chosen (they're Scottish so Catholic) for them & the mothers' maiden name. So he was Phillip Dawson (mother's maiden name) . And his mother was Elizabeth Dawson (mothers' maiden name) . Would work well for my kids as my last name is Taylor so it's unisex :D
