Should I get an IUD?

I just recently started having sex and I'm not on any birth control. I used to take the pill to regulate me but I'm so forgetful that I would forget to take my pills. I've don't the depo shot and it messed me up. I was having month long periods crazy weight gain and mood swings. So I wanted to try an IUD but I'm completely clueless about them. Can anyone educatate me on them and  he best ones?

Get the nexplanon rod instead. My gyno reccomended that I didn't get it because I didn't have kids yet,(she has it herself) plus, the rod is a lot safer and the procedure is painless

I got the copper IUD and honestly, it's awesome. There's a lot of stigma around it, but after tons of research I can tell you that it's totally safe and one of the most effective. All this baloney about it leaving you infertile or hurting you is mostly just that. Having said that, you do have to be aware the first month that it doesn't move around and go get it checked. Just make sure to go with a professional, because when I had it put in it was by a trainee (I didn't know this) and it did move and come out on the first month because they used one that was too big. Still, the ease of knowing that you can take one of the many worries of sex out of the equation makes everything so much better. You should still always wear a condom because as awesome as it is barring possible babies, unfortunately it can't do the same with diseases.

Getting an IUD would be good if your forgetful but do your reasearch and get a lot of opinions and advice from people who have been there and done that. I don't know how it would feel I've never tried and it's something I once thought about but decided it's too much of a risk for myself. So do your reasearch girl!

I wanted a non-hormonal way of BC which would be the copper IUD. When I went to my appointment the Gynocologist said No. That I couldn't use The copper one that I had the alternative of Skyla. She said that because my uteruse wasnt stretched out enough. She also said that it was an opption but she prefered not to mess with that. So she recommended nexplanon. First week I almost regreted it but after that I love it so far. Expore your options
