depo shot??

girls!! I'm thinking of getting the depo shot, because I know it's more convenient than taking a pill everyday (& I'd rather not use anything like Nuva ring..) i still need to talk to my doctor about it but, for any of you on it, how have your periods been? everything I've read say you may get spotting, light periods or no periods. I'd hate to have to wear a liner in case I have spotting, so how have your periods been??
