Do you think it's okay to drink wine while pregnant?

Question

I personally don't think any amount of any type of alcohol is okay for baby in the womb. What are your opinions?

It's 9 months, nobody NEEDS a glass of wine, or a cigarette, or a joint while pregnant. 9 months sober won't kill you. I did it and I'm still alive, even after having 24/7 sickness for 4 months, not being able to hold food or liquid down. So whatever excuse someone comes up with to keep drinking or smoking, is BS

Is it that hard to wait 9 months? You really want that to be in your baby's system? This is unbelievable that some people think it's ok. It's ridiculous that some people can't skip out on wine or a cigarette for 9 months

If you can't go 9 months without alcohol you have a serious problem. Unless you were an alcoholic prior to pregnancy, in which case you would need to be weaned off with medical supervision, there is absolutely no reason why you would need to drink while pregnant. I have seen first hand (many times due to my job) the effects of foetal alcohol syndrome and it's horrible - why risk the health of your child just because you just fancy a beer on a nice day? Even small amounts can have an affect. It's selfish.

I drank liquor until I was 12 weeks pregnant. Why? Because I was a heavy heavy heavy drinker when I found out I was pregnant, 7 weeks along. I tried to stop drinking cold turkey, and ended up in the ER. Told them about my drinking & I was advised to wean myself off it or i would miscarry. So that's what I did. I also smoked weed til I was 14 weeks pregnant, with my OB's approval for that. She said it was better with less side effects than any medication they could prescribe. I had horrible morning sickness, and smoking was the only way I could keep food down. So, basically, it's not your place to judge...

I voted that it's okay but I personally would never drink while pregnant! I'm currently 32 + 1, I haven't even had any caffeine since finding out that I'm pregnant

Why risk it!?!? No one knows the safe levels of alcohol you can drink while pregnant because it's too dangerous to research. So no alcohol (wine or otherwise) is the best option. If you can't put your baby first for 9 months how will you cope for the rest of that child's life?

I had a glass of red wine every Friday night after work. My son is 3 and perfect, I never had any complications during pregnancy and my Dr said it was fine.
