If you found out your dad might not be your dad wouls you wanna know who was?

I don't wanna go into a lot of detail so I'm just gonna say a few years ago I found out my dad might not be my dad but his brother might be. (No judging. I don't want to hear any shit talk about my mother so keep snotty opinions to yourself) Anyway, I'm in my mid twenties and haven't been able to stop thinking about it. If you we're in my shoes would you wanna know? I've thought about secretly sending in a DNA test with a sibling to see if we have the same parents but I'm afraid of what it'll say. On one hand if my dad is my dad I'll feel bad for checking and if he isn't I'll have to carry that alone for the rest of my life. Just wondering what others would do.

I would want to for medical reasons, he might be a biological father but that alone doesn't make him a dad.

Whether or not he's your biological dad, he's still your dad. I know that's not relevant to the question, but if you do pursue this (and he's not your biological father), I don't want you to forget who raised you.

Does your dad know that he might not be the dad or just your mom and you know? I think if you talk to your mom and ask her if it's ok to ask your dad ( if he already knows) sit your dad down and talk to him about doing the DNA test. But otherwise he's your father either way. Best of luck

Yes. Just for my own sake. If the guy who raised me had no idea, id keep it to myself. He did raise you, so he is your dad...not the potential sperm donor.

I can say no because my so called dad and mom didn't want me. I was 2 months old. I have him on Facebook but it's a rough past and I was adopted anyway. So no. I don't want to know who he is as a person.

I wouldn't judge you when I turned 21 my mom told me my dad wasn't my real dad that it was his brother(he had raped my mom) honestly I would have been perfectly fine not knowing but it's up to you
