Do you have a baby shower for every one of your pregnancies?

I'm not sure if I should have a baby shower or not... This is my second baby girl, and my family said that I shouldn't have one since I had a party for my first. But his family says I should have a party for this baby too. 
What should I do?

In my opinion you have a baby shower for your first because you don't have anything.  If your second baby is a different gender than the first you will need some stuff like clothes but nothing big/essential.
If the family wants to throw you a shower I wouldn't turn it down haha but if they want you to plan your own shower I say go suck an egg lol

In my mom's family, a baby shower happens after the birth so everyone can meet the baby. If you JUST had a baby than guests only buy disposable diapers, other small things or nothing. Every baby deserves to be celebrated, just maybe not showered with gifts.

As someone who was invited to a friend's baby shower for her first baby & then to another baby shower for her 2nd baby less than 2 years later... one shower is enough. If you want to celebrate the 2nd baby, have a get-together but don't ask for gifts. This friend of mine had a registry both times & I felt like that was very unreasonable. Your friends & families can always get you gifts if they really want to without a shower.

I think my mom and sister may throw me another.  Only because my first child was born nearly 7 years ago.  My husband hadn't planned on having another child...but things happen.

So, I suppose if they want to, then that's okay with me.   I don't have any friends or anything.  I'm sure there will be only family...if that..:/

Imo, if someone offers to throw a shower, let them. I would NEVER throw on myself. I feel it's super tacky.

I've heard it is tacky to have multiple baby showers. However, every baby deserves to be celebrated. If you don't feel comfortable, have a meet the baby shower after her birth. Or let his family throw you one and enjoy it. Since you should still have most of the big stuff, people can spend their money on little things this time, which should help with those who say no. Or they don't even have to come. It really boils down to what you want and are comfortable with.

I would suggest doing a sip n see after baby. All babies should be celebrated but I think something along this line is more appropriate

I was confused about this too.  This is my 2nd pregnancy and I had a baby shower for my first one year ago!  I wasn't going to have one this time but my mom INSISTED on throwing one.  I thought it would look tacky but everyone I spoke with agreed with my Mom.  One person even told me she had a baby shower for each of her six kids!  This pregnancy is also a different gender so that helps.  I say if someone wants to throw you one then go for it!

I didn't have a baby shower with my first, but I had one for my second (boy), and I am having one this time because we are having a girl.
