Which ever you get just make sure it's a closed system. They are more hygienic and easier to clean. I have the ameda one now and just have to wash the bottles and funnel bits after, the rest just needs a quick wipe down. I'd say if you can afford it definitely get a double electric. I had a manual one at first and my wrists and hands were killing me after a couple of weeks pumping every couple of hrs. Also invest in one of the pumping bands because then you can do it hands free and sit and have a drink or eat etc while pumping rather than sitting there holding the bottles for 15-20min

I've used many different ones in the past. Lansinoh was pretty good. I got the First Years Quiet Expressions this time. It had great reviews and I got a good deal on it. I like that the shields are soft silicone and flexible for comfort and suction. It has a great bag and two cute breast like bottles. I got the Kiinde system to use with it. Haven't used it yet since I'm still pregnant but excited for it.

I'm going to get the spectra s2. Many reviews say its ad good as medela but gentler & may help express more. And I think, if you're buying it yourself, that spectra is less than medela. I looked at amazons reviews and compared the 2. They have almost identical rating scores.

My insurance is covering the medela. I've never used it BF or else I'd let ya know.
