For placenta encapsulation there are banks that keep if for you and the blood or something in it can possibly be helpful to your child in the future. I don't know alot about it but you can do research. Some people just delay cord clamping and the baby gets everything that was in the placenta right after birth. Some people save it in a bank, which you need to pay for. I think most just don't care what happens to it.
