Back pain

So I will be 14 weeks tomorrow and I have a sharp pain in my lower back towards the right side! I understand that back pain comes with pregnancy, but I feel like it's too early for me to be having such severe pain. I'm not spotting nor do I have any other unusual symptoms is the reason I'm not on my way to the hospital right now, but I'm concerned and don't really know if I have reason to be. I have called my doctor but she has not returned my call, and the voicemail said it might be tomorrow before I get a call back. Has anyone experienced this and might have some advice for me?
