Neither! We have a co-sleeper which attaches to side of bed. So more like a bassinet. I don't like cribs! I like to have my baby close.

I bought this less than a year ago for our 2nd child so our new baby will sleep in this too at first alone our bedside. $99 from Target it's very nice and portable. Doesn't come with sheet fyi

So it's a bit weird, but we have an old (hardly used) puppy bed (we'll cover with a pillowcase or two) that's super padded and has a broader all the way around, so he's going to be sleeping in that between us for the first couple of months.
At first my husband laughed at the idea and the thought about it and thought it was a great idea.
