2 week maternity leave. 😔
I'm in a predicament. We conceived the week after I started working at my company and so I don't qualify for FMLA. I just spoke to my HR department and apparently the only time off I'll have is any PTO and sick days. The problem is, my PTO didn't start accruing until this month (after my initial 90 days), which means by January I'll have a total of dun dun dun...9ish days of PTO/sick time.
Now we have to figure out what to do. We'll have money saved up for maternity leave, the question is..do I look for another job now? Or plan to work at my current company until the baby comes and then stay home and look for a new job after a few months?
Florida doesn't have disability so the only disability I would qualify for is pregnancy disability which doesn't apply once I'm no longer pregnant. Ugh!!!
