presents for boyfriends?

hey, I struggle to think of nice things to get my boyfriend for his birthday etc. it's so much easier to buy for women because there's jewellery flowers and obvious stuff but there's not anything that obvious for guys?! I don't have a lot of money but still want something nice for him, doesn't have to particularly be a present but a nice date idea or something? got any ideas?
