Crazy coughing

I'm 23 weeks pregnant and for the past couple days have been plagued with an annoying hard cough. I can't seem to stop. It's so frustrating. I called mother risk and they said using Vicks vapo rub at night is on which has helped some but working has been a nightmare and taking time off is next to impossible. My fear is that I'm hurting the baby. Does my insane coughing affect him?
