How long after giving birth did you wait to have sex?

OK so I had a C-section 3 weeks ago and I really want to have sex with my SO, I miss the closeness of us although we are close in other ways I'm just missing the intimacy. I can't remember how long I waited with my previous C-section but I know it was before the '6 week recommendation' I feel fine and the bleeding has virtually stopped. Just wondered what everyone else did?

2 or 3 weeks i think i had a c section i felt ok and needed to be close in that way

Wait until the doctor says. Birth and surgery tear you up and you can get an infection in your uterus and die.

I would wait until you see the doc to make sure you're healed!! I had ovarian surgery last year (it was an abdominal surgery like a c section) and I was told not to have sex for 6 weeks!
