Breast Pump in Hospital Bag??

Question

Hi ladies, are you bringing your breast pump with you when you deliver your baby? Not sure if it is necessary, I don't really want to bring it with me if I don't need it as it will be one less thing to lug around.

My hospital told me to bring mine because the lactation nurse should help you learn to use it. I'm a FTM, so I think it will be nice for the specialist to help me so I won't feel so lost!

I just actually asked a labor and delivery nurse for my group about this yesterday and she told me that my hospital provides all of that. They will actually have the hospital grade pump there and then when we leave the hospital, they give me all of the attachments that we used there.. So I'll have an extra set. I would check with your doctor to see what they provide.

The head nurse in L&D at our hospital told us to bring ours when we come in.

I'm bringing mine because if I have any trouble I want to ask the lactation consultant while I am there instead of trying to figure it out myself

I'm not, probably will try to latch as much as possible in hospital. Unless baby has issues and has to be taken to NICU, they have good hospital grade ones they'll let you use while there if so :)

I won't be using mine at the hospital but I am packing it because they said they would set it up for me and show me how to use it.

Your milk won't come in for 4-5 days. So what are you pumping? Ouch
