Car seat head support?? Help :)

Hello! FTM here! I thought I was done worrying about getting everything I needed until I looked at my car seat and realized it didn't have those head support things I've seen in some of your pictures. Please tell me if those are mandatory? Where did you get yours and for how much? My baby trend seat  didn't come with it. Pic examples below. Thank you!!!

Heads up I was told the car seats with a double handle are known for at least one of the handles breaking while carrying it.

Not mandatory, mine came with one that was more of a pain in the butt than helpful. But I am going to be the one who says that the chest clip belongs on the chest (referencing the pic with the baby).

If your seat didn't come with one, you can't use one with it or it voids the warranty and makes the seat unsafe. What you CAN do (this is what they did when my son left the NICU) is roll up receiving blankets and put beside baby after they're completely buckled in.  Don't wrap a u shaped one over their head though, as that can force their head to their chest and compromise their airway.
