breastfeeding moms-How long did you wait to drink any alcohol/beer/wine? 🍻" /> Or other comment. Also, is 'pump and dump' a real thing? How do you check your content or know when it's safe to nurse again? (Not that I'm in desperate need but wouldn't mind a glass of wine soon)

You can continue to breastfeed if you are not feeling any effects from it. One glass of wine shouldn't make you tipsy, if it does, don't breastfeed. The only reason to pump and dump is to prevent engorging. It doesn't get the alcohol out of your milk any faster.

A beer or glass of wine is out of your system in an hour. My LC said a couple hours past drinking is find to feed.

I would feed my LO then have a drink and only one then it would be 3
Hours until his next feeding and I wouldn't see any effects and my doctor said that would be fine for him.

If you're really worried there are these little test strips you can buy, you dip it into your milk to check for alcohol

Pumping and dumping isn't a thing. If you can drive you can breastfeed. I just drink slowly enough and with food so I don't ever feel it

I legit had a beer immediately after giving birth. (i had a home birth).

I was cautious while I learned to breastfeed, but now that I have the hang of things, I enjoy a drink probably 2 times a week, maybe 3. I will often have a drink while I'm breastfeeding,  as it takes 20 min or so to actually get into your blood and milk. By then I'm done and I know I'm in the clear for a while.

When my OB came in for my hospital discharge checkup she told me I could have a beer/drink or two (I didn't ask she just offered). She said what someone else said, if I'm Okay to drive I can feed baby. I've been having a Guinness a day since she told me!

My LO is almost 4 weeks I have a half glass of wine and then wait two hours before feeding and drink plenty of water inbetween. You can always pump a bottle before you drink to feed LO if you feel more comfortable
