My sweetie is here!
On July 27th I had an appointment, my cervix was checked and I was dilated to 3 cm. My doctor then "stirred the pot" as she put it, I'm sure she stripped my membranes and sent me home. I had mild contractions all that evening into the night. The next morning (July 28th, my due date) my contractions were so bad I couldn't sleep and a warm bath wouldn't simmer them down. I drove to my mom's and she drove me the rest of the way to the hospital, it's an hour and a half drive. I got there close to 10 am and the contractions slowly but surely got worse, I received an epidural around 2 or so. Dilated from a 4-9 around 3 pm, then quickly became a 10. I pushed for about 2 1/2 hours in multiple different positions, contractions just weren't strong enough. They turned my epidural off and then I felt everything but that was shove I needed to push my little boy out. At 6:44 pm I delivered Chase Paul, weighing 6 lbs 6.1 oz and 20 in long. I was so thankful my doctor pushed me to my limits so that I could have him vaginally, they talked about another c-section but she had faith I could do it. We enjoyed our hour of skin to skin, then after a bit I was allowed to get up go to the bathroom and then shower. After I was done they came in and kept checking his blood sugar which remained low even after feeding, they then took him to the NICU where I spent the next three days running back and forth every three hours to breastfeed him. After all the monitoring he ended up with no problems. Discharged on the 31st. I'm so in love with this little dude!!
